We quickly jumped in and got to know the engineering team. We modified their process, set up a new meeting calendar, and rapidly progressed to well-organized, effective sprints.
In parallel, we connected with various stakeholders to understand the various problems with the billing system, gathered, organized, and validated the requirements, and worked with the team to come up with a few possible solutions, finally selecting the one that best aligned with company goals.
Over the course of the next few months, we led the team in the implementation and rollout of a new billing solution that integrated third-party time-tracking software, a newly vetted third-party invoicing application, and the client’s internal license management software.
The average time to invoice dropped from weeks to less than 3 days, costly errors were reduced to nearly zero, customer and employee confidence in the invoicing process skyrocketed, and the VP of Operations reduced their monthly time spent on invoicing from dozens of hours to just minutes.
